Like the topic says, how do I do this using the VAGCOM. I've seen the locking/unlocking TSB, but I can't figure out what the stuff means. I'm pretty rookie at this sort of thing, so if someone could take me through it step by step, that would be great.

I just asked the dealer to do it. They were more than happy to reprogram the locks. Sorry I don't have any vag-com info for you.

I will take a shot at this:
Before beginning have everything set up and ready to make the change. This means having the car hooked up to the computer.
1. Open the VAG-COM program on your computer.
2. Click on the "SELECT" box.
3. Click on the "35- CENT. LOCK" box.
4. Click on the "ADAPTATION-10" box.
5. At the "CHANNEL NUMBER" box use the "UP" button to select channel number "04".
6. Using the "NEW" box just below the "CHANNEL NUMBER" box change the numerical value from "0" to "1".
7. Select "SAVE".
8. Click "DONE-GO BACK" and exit out of VAG-COM.
This procedure is used to provide the following results:
"Auto lock/unlock: Vehicles will be unlocked when the ignition key is withdrawn from the ignition lock."

I just tried this and it didn't work. When I select "35. Cent. Locks", I get no response from that module.

Mine did this from the factory. i did not know that they all were not like that?

+ the cost of a laptop if you don't have one..
or you can always plug it into your home machine, but that is generally less convenient..

Overdrive: If your car has power windows, you need to selet 46 - center conv. instead of 35 - center locks. Hope that helps.

Oh.
Is it the same exact procedure outside of the different module? I just want to make sure... so I don't end up locking myself in my own car.
