I want to put these rear rotors on my 04 Jetta. http://www.wrdusa.com/Merchant...rades
I trimmed and bent back the dust shield, but when I tried to put the new rotor on it still made contact with the shield. Is there a fairly easy way to remove the dust shield altogether?
As an aside, the hat on the new rotors is about 1/2" higher than on the stock rotor. Is this to accomodate the adapter and still line up the caliper with the rotor?

From what i remember reading you have to pull off the entire rear hub. Most people say F that and just grab some tin snips and cut off as much as they can.

use a wood chisle or a flatblade screwdriver and a hammer,

like mentioned above, either remove the hub or cut the shield off with some tin snips.
