Re: How do I slap 17's on my dub?????? (88gti16vracer)

Well. first off, what size tire are you going with? is the car lowered?
Mine are 205/40/17 and is lowered 1and a half inch. I did definitely had to trim the fenders, by using a rubber mallet and a grinder. Offset is important also. Try to keep it where it is right of the factory or it will cause much damage. Now as for tire size, depending on how low your car is or how much your going to lower it, your going to have to go with a 7" width rim. 7.5" with 205's will rub a little,215's will rub mad!!! So you'll be safe with 205's and a 7'' rim. And i would deffintely get some lug bolts, they could help.

don't forget locking ones to.

i have a 1 3/4" drop on my car, with 205/40/17 size tires. i cut the flat part of the fenders that jut toward the wheel with a dremel, just at the top. didn't have to do anything to the rear. no scraping. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
