How do I snug up the e-brake in my GTi? Is it possible or do I need to replace the cable...I checked the search function and came up with nothing.
The car is a rally-x car and NEEDS a tight hand brake....Thanks

yeah man thats pretty accurate. the bentley says to jack up the rear of your car put it on jack stands (for YOUR SAFETY), pull the e brake 2 clicks and tighten the nutz till the wheels cannot move freely. Back off the hand brake and see if the wheels rotate freely. readjust a necessary.

just make sure that you dont tighten the e-barkae so tight that it drags the rear brakes when it it fully disengaged.

Adjusting the cable incorrectly can cause the self adjusting mechanism in the caliper to fail. The lever on the caliper needs to sit on it's stop for the caliper to work properly. If new pads have been fitted the piston needs setting for the ebrake to work as intended.
