Re: How do to read hp on a block dyno. (GTeeEYE)

did you get your ECU in the new car? I think the block duno #'s are at the crank..not wheels....and they have a small margin for error - so that sounds about right.......

Yeah, I got my APR in. The car runs great. But a little disappointed in the block 120 dyno. I 'd expect 215 crank or so with the 93 oct.
Oh well, we'll find out soon enough.

third gear, low rpm -> redline is the way to do it...

and yeah, if you calculated hp right, you're getting crank hp. 192 does seem a little low for 93 octane specific. i think i'm getting 208 on my giac v.10 chip

1500-7000 rpm in third gear... you get the best results when that's the only block you are running because you get about 3.5 readings a second rather than half that or a third of that....
tq= (nm)(0.738)
hp=tq(rpm/5252)
covert to wheels multiply each value by 0.875
good luck...

I heard that due to the chip tuning (at least with APR and audi ecu's) the values from the block 120 are skewed to become inaccurate (DBW). Perhaps APR can comment on this topic. It was my understanding block 120 data is derived from mass air flow and rpm values. There was a topic on AW regarding this recently..
