I have searched through and through - but I still do not understand offset, and what it takes to make S4 rims mount correctly. I understand you need adapters - but what exactly are the adapters changing? Thanks for any help?!
Re: How do you get S4 rims to mount on a Mark IV GTI? (__0verb00st__)
The adapters change the bolt patern. S4 rims have a bolt pattern of 5x112 while MKIV GTIs use a bolt pattern of 5x100. Thus you need 5x112->5x100 adapters. For more on bolt pattern check here: http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/tech/boltpatt.htm.
Re: How do you get S4 rims to mount on a Mark IV GTI? (ThunderGolf)
It seems to be that using an adapter at such a crucial spot would weaken the connection of the wheel... are there any negative consequences to doing this?
BTW< thanks for the help!
