How do you keep cats off your car?

555 Views 11 Replies 11 Participants Last post by  the_friendly_nihilist
I got a new paint job recently that I'd love to keep free of scratches (but actually it's already too late for that -- I'm just trying to salvage now). Here's what I've tried so far:
shoeing them off with violent gestures (they come right back)
parking my car further down the street (they follow it)
covering my car with my $300 wolf cover (they tear it up)
covering the hood with a beach towel (they move the towel and/or sleep on the roof)
spraying the towel with store bought anti-pet spray (they don't mind it)
I don't have a garage. I have to park it outside. Any suggestions appreciated.

that is freakin' hilarious, you musta found some cats that love your car more than you do, I had that problem but before I knew, the cats were all gone cause of the colder weather. I would say put some cat food on the floor by a different car, and hopefuly they'll sleep on that car.

When you find out let me know.
There are a few in my neighborhood that need to go! A tuna and antifreeze cocktail might do the trick!
Doubt I could bring myself to do something so cruel. But irresponsible neighbors piss me off! If you are going to have a pet than you need to take care of it. Don't leave it outside to live and keep having offspring
And using my yard as a toilet.

It's because our car's stay so warm for so long.

I know that WD-40 works for bugs, but I'm not too sure what to do about cats.

put the sprinker on the car after a few days they will learn(but put the cover on the car so the constant water doesnt hurt the paint)

and if that doesnt work there is always the anti-tank .50 caliber rifle (no liscences required)

and the best part is you can shoot them from over a half mile away

actually it goes a bit further than that and its more of an anti-personel or troop carrier (will go through the block of a motor at closer ranges) weapon than an anti-tank one.
makes a mess though of the 'fleshy' targets.
oh yeah, there was a discussion on this a while back. do a search.
