THE VW PART NUMBER IS "021-103-383-N" IT HAS A SUGGESTED LIST OF 67.55, BUT, MOST DEALERS WILL TRY TO GET YOU FOR MORE IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE EXACT SUGG. LIST. MAKE SURE NOT TO USE SEALER WHEN INSTALLING THE NEW HEAD GASKET. YOU WILL ALSO NEED 3 OF THE INTAKE GASKETS BETWEEN THE UPPR AND LWR INTAKE PART # "021-133-237" AND A NEW VAlVE CVR GASKET WOULD BE RECOMMENDED PART # "021-103-483-D" . IT IS A SIMPLE JOB, JUST BE SURE TO TORQUE THE HEAD BOLT TO THE CORRECT TORQUE SPECIFICATION WHICH YOU CAN GET OUT OF A BENTLEY MANUAL AVAIL @ YOUR LOCAL VW DEALER
If its just the gasket I would say 3-5 hours tops but if you gonna go that far you might as well change you timing chain and you guides as well for safety and reliabilty which could take alittle longer
Don't forget the most important part of the job. NEW head bolts, don't reuse the original bolts.
How about new cams, lifters, springs, valve stem seals, Ti retainers, port and polish, w/p(s), the list goes on and on.
