What would you like to install this on? Your name suggusts that you're gonna wait and get a Jetta GLI which will have polished tips from the factory.
I'd imagine you'll have to use a hack saw to chop the old tips off then attach the new ones, shouldn't be too much work..

i have these
you dont have to cut anything, they just slide right over your stock exhaust tips.
they are in almost an s- shape to fit on your stock exhaust tips.
however, upon putting them over my own stock tips, we noticed that they do not sit straight, and the right tip hangs about an inch and a half lower than the left. I believe it is due to the angle of the stock muffler. Therefore, we heated the end of the right tip next to the muffler itself, and bent it upward. We put the tips back on, and voila, they were straight.
some people do not have this problem, but most people do.
they look very good for the price imo, especially if it is just temporary until you get your future exhaust system (forced motion
)

Check out this thread: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=167444
There's a picture of my car with the tips on. I also had problems getting them straight at first. Mine were hanging down on the left. I did a bit of bending and now they are on straight.
