Ok so lets say I wanted to play some music in my car while I'm cleaning. How long can I do this till the battery dies?

Let's try this again, but with some actual helping this time, ok?
OP, you should be able to play your radio for longer than you would ever need to without any ill effects whatsoever, assuming that you haven't got some silly huge system in there.

Need more info:
Current exact charge on battery
Capacity, brand and age of battery
exact power draw of car accessories that are on when key is 1/2 turned
exact power draw of your specfic stereo system at the volume level you will be playing
playlist of all songs that will be played (are they bass heavy etc)
Get back to me with that information and I will give you a number.

I've run my stock stereo as much as 2 to 3 hours with no issues. Beyond that, I get tired of hearing it.

We towed my Jetta home when it broke down. Took about an hour. I had the radio and lights on the whole time. When I got home, it still had enough power to turn over and start.
But of course the time will vary.

This.
I had a boat battery in my first car. I could play the stereo for several hours and leave the parking lights on all night without a problem. People would show up at a party and say, Hey man your parking lights are on." I'd reply, 'Well I'm parked, ain't I?"

Just last weekend my son and I were helping with some landscaping at the park for an Eagle Scout project. One of the mothers played her stereo for about an hour and a half and needed a jump. this was a fairly new Honda.

and on a brand new hyundai i could play my radio for about 10-15mins & then couldn't start my car. had to have it jumped several times. then i bought the biggest battery i could stuff in there to replace the stock one & haven't had a problem since.
point: no one knows how long the OP's battery is going to last.
my guess is still 42 seconds. exactly.

yeah, then just plug it into an inverter that's plugged into your cigarette lighter...

My uncle had a '90 Jetta. The radio could be turned on just by pressing power without the keys in. One day he went to work and forgot to shut the radio off as he got out. After an 8 or 12 hour shift he got back to the car, opened the door and the radio was still going and the car started wiht no issues.

Then he'd have to start a new thread, though.
Boombox: $20
Extension cord: $5
Starting your clean car: priceless
I tend to spend hours and hours washing a car- i.e. on jackstands to remove the wheels, using a toothbrush on the interior trim, etc. So I don't even try to listen to the radio in the car.

I could go hours in my 2000 4runner with a fresh battery. I put an amp to power the front coaxials and an amp to power a 10" sub and it lasted like half an hour. Too many variables.

Another thing you will want to consider is how much stress you will put on the alternator once you start the car back up after draining it. That could add up quickly $$$
