You know the title of this thread sounds...questionable

Anyway, I've never used anit-sqeal before and never had a problem buy my UFOs are singing in a most annoying way at low speeds. Sooooo, does that anit-squeal stuff really work? It just lubes the back of the pad right?

Re: How many use anti-squeal goo on pads? (Silly_me)

Basically its a thick grease (which will do the trick as long it's high temp)
The pads stick to the calpier/piston. instead of ratteling around (squeaking)

I told a friend of mine to put copper grease on the pads to stop the squealing. He greased them, the squealing stopped for a couple of weeks, but he complained that the brakes were terrible when he greased them. I told him to take them out, and put some more on the backside then. He said "Backside?? I put it on the front side of the pads!"

I had a friend put some on his TT when we fitted new pads to his car. The next day while racing around Mid-Ohio he was black flagged because flames were coming from his wheels. Turns out that stuff when really hot likes to flare up!
