Re: how much does 2.0l timing belt replacement/install cost? (Murdoch)
Agreed, buy the parts somewhere like mjm or ecs, and also buy the metal impeller waterpump and a new thermostat while you're at it, because since the guy is down there, might as well get that done too. This will save you quite a bit of money. I'm looking at getting mine done for ~$350 installed for everything.
Have you looked at your timing belt yet? My dealership tried to get me on $800 one time, and I took a look, the belt was great and the car only had 58k on it. When you're at 73k, it's about that time, and isn't a bad idea to get it changed out just to be safe. However, it never hurts to look at what the situation is, and if it's something that needs to be done now, or if you can relax and save up the money to have it done in a month or so. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
Since you're in Seattle, look into TKOmotorwerks or Fine Tuning. These guys will treat you right. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

dealers charge upwards of 300-400 for labor- WITHOUT PARTS! it sucks but when it's time it's time you don't want to stretch that time out. could potentially blow your engine if it breaks. good luck http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif |
