The Golf VII has 88 psi for the wheels. How much over would be considered over torqued. Got my car back after a wheel swap and it was quite tight. I did manage to loosen the wheel bolts and retorque to factory specs. Not sure now if the shop damaged anything with overtorqueing. Would 100psi be considered too much?

By the way torque is listed as ft/lb not psi. Very few tire shops torque with wrench just buzz on with air wrench. Probably the worst problem with over torque would be if uneven tightening causing warping. What could lug bolts handle before breaking/stripping? Probably a lot more than 100 ft/lb.

Thanks all. Gonna check the torque again in 200 km's. Hopefully none of the wheel bolts will be loose.
