Slap on some rubber gloves and I give the underbody a wash once a week. For sure atleast once every two weeks and then let it dry in the garage.
(Can't wait for our new heated garage)

I just recently discovered the "Laser Wash" up here, it'll be responsible for keeping my car clean every week. Completely touchless and it works great. Never have to get out of your car.

And I live in Alaska.

I'll do it once a month at either the do it yourself coin place, or the local wash that does a nice job. It's not touchless but they take all kinds of very nice cars in all the time and I haven't seen a single problem yet.
And you think it get's cold in GA?

I think I wash my car more in the winter since I want to get the salt off it. A two car garage with an insulated garage door helps to keep the temps above freezing even in February. I wash them at least once every two weeks generally. If they were brand new cars, they would be washed every two days.

There is no way that I'm washing it when there is snow / ice on the ground by hand. I don't care what I own it isn't happening.
And since my car sits outside 24x7 (only my mom's RX300 gets a garage spot) the snow generally dosen't melt as quickly on it.
And if I washed it as soon as it got dirty as you suggested I wouldn't make it one day. My town loves to over use sand. There is sand on the road until Aug here
Plus I do 60mi per day.

Once a week faithfully - by hand - gotta bite the bullet and keep her clean.

Try to wash them once to twice a month. But given Raincouver's rain + freezing rain + snow weather that only has a few days off sunny, its hard to wash them frequently.

I wash the cars weekly to get the road salt off. I live 400 feet from salt water and my cars would rust into scrap in no time if I didn't remove the salt. I happily use the cheapest nastiest brush-using car wash I can find so I can show off the orange-peel paint job and door dings. Washing cars by hand cuts into your drinking time.

I usually pick the coldest day in the month to do it.

in winter i only wash it after it snows and/or they've laid a bunch of salt/sand. in summer, i wash it when iget embarrassed by its dirtyness.

Usually once a week. Or more frequently if they are throwing down major salt. There are wand wash places here avery couple of blocks, so it's not hard to find a good cheap place to do it.
Re: how often you wash your ride during the winter? (DanG)

I wash mine at least once a week. If it's too cold to wash it in the driveway, I'll take it to one of the wash it yourself places. The water is usually heated, so it's not so bad.
If the salt gets too bad during the week that I don't want to wait till the weekend, I'll just stop in and hose it off. Otherwise, on the weekend, I get out the sponge, and really give it a good washing/drying.
