I picked up a rooftop spoiler for my wagon 3C9071640GRU and while it is out being painted, I wanted to research the install process. Who has done this and what did you use to successfully install?

My understanding is that it’s just urethaned on to the tailgate. I say this after having attempted to remove two 20AE spoilers and given up each time. I read how you are supposed to use basically piano wire used for windshield removal. I didn’t have that.

Looks like Vw suggests a specific adhesive: 000071785D - Adhes. Kit. Multi - purpose adhesive. Spoiler adhesive kit - Genuine Volkswagen Part
