Yup, 40 years of working on VWs, and damned if I can get the lid off of the fuse box on an '09 Passat! The one under the hood with the two locks that slide to open. Once they are unlocked, does the lid lift up, slide forward, unlatch?????? It was -20something and I did not feel like taking a chance on forcing anything.

Slid them back (actually forward) as far as I could make them move, but I guess that wasn't far enough to release. Before I had to go back into it, the wiper motor (what I was trying to diagnose) started working again. Lost a low beam on the way home, so I guess I will be under the hood tomorrow anyhow.
