can someone with experience please describe how to paint brake calipers? is it necessary to take caliper off?

you can actually buy a brush paint on kit. So yes you can leave them on, but I would take them off for better results

go to the hardware store and pick up a normal, small brush. or get 2
one big
one small
take your time so it dont look like ****e

You can just get some caliper spray paint and tape up the wheel well and spray away.
First: Clean the calipers
Second: Apply first coat, let dry
Third: Second Coat, let dry
Fourth: Third coat if you want
Takes awhile to do but it is tight

ebay, auto custom shops, internet. Just search under paint calipers

Just go to Pepboys or Trakauto or autozone
Any auto store even Wal-mart my have them.
You don't have to go through alot of trouble to get them.

2 coats of this stuff gives you a super high gloss look. I've used it and I'll recommend it if you don't want to remove the calipers.
