This is my first post cant figure out how to get pictures to show up...sorry

I own 2 b3 passats and have done this mod in each.

#1 You will need to make the slot wider to fit the b4 switch. I used a file for this.

#2 The electrical plug in the b3 will need 5 of the 7 wires to be repined the match the b4 switch. Look at the back of your old b3 switch compared to the b4 switch and you will see all 7 pins have a lable.

Here is the the correct order for the b4 switch.
P/F - 86/F - 31 - 15 - 58b - 86B - P/B

I’m guessing b3 switches are getting hard to find?

Now you need to figure out how to wire the aftermarket carbon fiber seat heating pads to the factory switch. I installed 2 sets of the eBay seat kits in cars which didn’t have them, and they heat wonderfully. The only issue is, the switch options don’t look close to factory and the switch sizes are incorrect.
