How to select quality shop to unmount/mount alloy wheels?

454 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  mob my audi
What should I ask about or look for in order to find a shop that will change tires and not blemish the alloy wheel's finish. I am not looking to get by cheap, so any informationn on how to spot quality-first operators is appreciated.
What can you educate me about so that I can get the best balancing service possible? Again, not necessarilly for cheap.
Thanks for your time.

Go to your local Discount tire co.
They sound like a bargain cheapo shop, but they only employ quality people. Talk to the manager, tell him/her your situation, tell him/her your wheels are worth big beans. Ask who's gonna be working on the wheels, then go talk to them. I think they charge $12 per tire for mounting balancing or something.. not sure though

YOU GOT IT....I worked there, follow the mans advice get the manager, or even a senior. ANYONE who has worked there a while can do it, just BE PATIENT and they will work for you. Let them do their job and IF they mess up, don't be an Ahole, because your wheel or tire WILL be replaced cause accidents happen.

DriveGTI and Matchschtick: Thank you much for the recommendation. I have looked on their website for a Discout tire where I live, Napa CA, and it seems what they have in the Bay Area is a sister chain called "America's Tire". Do you think America's Tire is as credible as Discount Tire? Thanks for your time.
