I do not think my hi speed is kicking on because my car is running real hot all of a sudden with the A/C on. 230+
My car is making a weird whining noise when I drive with the A/C on when the car is warmed up. The noise goes away when I turn off the A/C.
Any help would be appreciated. btw- its a 93 slc

Re: How to "test" my cooling fan (GTIUPVR6)

My car sometines make that whinning noise too. Anyway remove the fan switch harness. You should see 3 pins, I forget which is which but, one is for ground, one for low speed, other for high speed. Find the ground pin on the plug and ground it and then take a constant 12V and touch the high speed pin. The fans should turn on.

You have to run a wire that is hot, one that is ground and one to the high speed on the fan that is also tapped into the hot. Im not sure which is high speed, i forgot but just tap into all 4 wires just to see if they are all going on, chances are they all work, its just a Corrado an your running AC
, your brave:D... 230 isnt bad, ive done it plenty of times, i just decided to rig my fans so that when my car is started, my high speed is on all the time. Best mod ive done and it was only $10 outta the $6000 ive put into her http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif ..
Goodluck bro-

K- i just checked and high speed is the one on the driver side of the plug. Not the top or the one on the pass side but the driver side, i think it has the thickest wire, i cant tell cause i still have all of them hooked up but another wire tapped into high speed.

i had the same problem, changed the fan switch and took care of it. cheap 13 dollar fix and now it runs like a champ. change the thermostat and do a flush and fill while you are at it and it should run great http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
