I have a rivet gun, but it won’t work with a threaded rivet this size.

Is there a way to install it with a few nuts and wrenches similar to the way a nutsert can be installed?

Do not see why not, in fact it looks like you can place the rivet install the part and with hardware and tighten down and at the same time.

I agree. It appears you just get the properly sized nut(s) and then crank on them with your ratchet. The only fly in the ointment would be if the threaded post spins in the rivet. If that is the case, then you probably need a special tool (read: expensive) similar to the riv-nut tool to do the deed. Maybe an inquiry to a body shop will be informative on the subject.
