I know I rag on polls, but I think this should be interesting. On a scale of 1-5, how would you rate your dealership (all names will be held confidential to avoid potential law suits)

Re: How would you rate your dealership? (VarLordahl)

I personally love my dealership (Liberty VW in Illinois) and they are easily a "5," perhaps a "6." Anyway, this is just to see if all VW dealerships are bad or just a few bad ones make them all seem bad!

The one I bought my jetta from was horrible, I'll never set foot into it again.
(8 hour sale)
The one I bought my new GTI from was great.
(bought it on my lunch break, including trade-in)

5, by far, for Martin Nemer Volkswagen in Latham, New York. I am, of course, speaking of my own personal experiences which have included the purchase of 2 new cars. I have NEVER had any problems of any kind with their sales, service, or parts department. When I read of people that aren't satisfied with their dealerships... it makes me upset only because of the great satisfaction I have had with Nemer, and the fact that not all VW Dealerships are like that. They have been rated #1 for sales and service in the entire Northeast by Volkswagen for the past 5 years. Kudos to Nemer Volkswagen! http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Re: (H2o_TRBO_GTi)

I have only been to the one dealership once, and that was because i bought the car.. For my 5k checkup i went to the local dealer up here. Aside from waiting a week to get in there, they did everything and even ordered a couple broken (i didnt even know 2 of the 3) parts and when they came in they put them on. My car had to stay there over night because of the glue they had to use for the rainsensor thingy that was broken on hte mirror.. but i guess that was understandable.. Either way they were cool.. and i got to sit in the owner's ferrari.. and their S8 http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Re: How would you rate your dealership? (skills)

I gotta say that Greenbriar Vw in Chesapeake Va is really good, the first time my window reg. broke it was at 4:30 pm, they serviced my car...no appt., no complaints, total professionalism! (same day) The only thing I can say semi-negative is that the parts dept. thinks peoples pockets are deep...prices are a LITTLE too high , other than that I'm very pleased with the service and quality of their dealership!

Re: How would you rate your dealership? (skills)

I live in Boston area. Bough my GTi from Boston VW in Allston MA.
Not knowing much about these area coming from Pennsylvania I've had good experiences with two previous car purchase, thought every dealer was decent. How stupid I was.
Here is the full story rather long but you won't believe this:
1st Inciddent:
Boston VW service people purchured my tired and scratched my rim and replaced the purchured tire with spare in my trunk. Then didn't tell me about it until I came home to find out my spare was missing when I opened up the trunk due to clunking sound from tools that were not properly mounted.
Over the phone the service manager bluntly denied it first. Then they admitted that service person was moving my car and punchured my tire and replaced it with spare. Anyway, I had to haggel and hassel just to get brand new rim and a full spare from another GTi in the parking lot.
2nd Incident:
I stopped in for 5000miles service. As I was waiting for my car to be serviced. I watched a service guy pulling out of the dealership parking lot with my GTi. I watched him squeeling my car and cutting infront of this fast on coming traffic causing the car behind to almost slam my GTi from behind. The tire skidding sound was so loud every people in the dealership including general manager of that place to look.
I confronted the service guy as he came back. "WTF are you doing with my car? Would you f'ing drive your f'in car like that you azzhole!" A service manager jumped in between us, took the car key from the azzhole then goes "See this key, take this and get the fxk out of this parking lot!"
Yup all truth...all but sad truth. Besides me many fellow dubbers have been burnt by this dealership. They are the scum of the earth. I bet Jim Ellis is better than this f'in dealership.
Peace!

I bought my car there, I must say great sales department. Then even sent a $50 check to the person who recomended me to them. Also got a very fair price on my trade in.

Clear Lake VW in Houston (just opened recently).
All i have to say is so far, so good. They are a respectable staff and have really brought decent service and mixed in some classic Texas hospitilaty.
By the way, they pickup their fone at the service desk, unlike most of the other Houston dealers here.

I gotta give kudos to my dealership (Carolina Volkswagen). Good sales team, but need to work on their product knowledge. Believe it or not, the parts and service department is outstanding (Ken and Judy) - friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable
