HPA FT single turbo line celebrates 5th anniversary with special package

The road to VW/Audi chassis tuning has taken HPA’s team on a 19 year journey and we are proud to make a one stop tuning package available to the MK5 enthusiast community.

As we review our MK5 offerings, we reflect back on these significant milestones

5 years since the debut of our FT single turbo line
5 years since we have been tuning the DSG
5 years since we built the trio of RGT cars for VW


To celebrate these milestones, we have assembled a special MK5 platform turbo package. This limited edition package will augment the entire power train of the MK5 platform delivering an OEM level of drivability coupled with ferocious acceleration and proven durability.

Limited edition FT425R includes

FT425 air to water single turbo kit $12,999
FT465 fuel system $1,500
Stage 3R DSG flash $1,995
Ceramic coated downpipe $295
Race grade Con Rod bearings $595
Core interlock motor mount $189

Value $17,573

Five FT425R packages will be offered at the special price of $13,900 + core charges for the OE fuel rail and flex joints.

those would have been a lovely match. Considering I already had the CVP, high flows, and stage 2 DSG . That would have made the cost cheaper for me. Damn it to heck!

Great deal! If I had the money this would be tempting...

but, honestly, I'd still prefer a supercharger...is a supercharger a possibility in the HPA's future for the Mk5 R32? maybe? definitely? definitely not? or?

would love to have someone on this side of the pond do what has already been done elsewhere by ABT and VR6 specialists...

for me, and maybe many other R32 owners, extreme power would be nice (that a turbo could provide), but a decent (~80-100 more whp) power increase, while still keeping the linear power curve that a supercharger would provide, and maybe a little more reliability that a supercharger would provide is very appealing for our daily driver...

for an amazing supercar, fun weekend car, I would love HPA's turbo or twin turbo setups...i love watching them beat Ferrari's and Lambo's on Youtube :D

Having started out with the FT425.. and getting the fuel system and Stage3R DSG software... THIS IS A SMOKING DEAL! Car runs better than ever. For anyone who has been on the fence now is the time to jump.

Also.. Next month I am moving from Seattle to Socal.. If anyone wants to drive the car in Seattle before it heads south with, or Norcal when I spend the night over there.. or SoCal when I am in town is more than welcome to.. either PM.. or reply and I will do what I can to meet up with you.

Curious what you're doing about CARB, Will. Your car isn't exactly "stealth", and I was under the impression that mods like this can get your car impounded in Cali.
Thats a good question. I remember when I lived in Cali, I had purchased a truck originally purchased and registered Oregon. The Oregon vehicle met Federal emissions, but not California State. When registering I paid ~$400 'enviromental impact fee' that years later was ruled as against the Constitution, so I got a refund and that program was cancelled.

Maybe cars that were registered in other states with no issue would allow for a transfer into California will little drama since you can't just take someone's car from them solely on passing over an imaginary line between states.

It's could also just be wishful thinking, for his sake at least...

Is there a dealer network that HPA has or do you have to drive all the way to HPA to have it installed?:confused:
Remedy,

the FT line has been packaged in such a way that we sell to the enthusiast and they can walk in the door of their selected performance shop and have it installed with an estimated 40-50 hour labor bill. A lot of our FT owners actually performed the installations on their own. With our DSG loaner tool, the tuner would not have to send us the DSG unit.

Wow, what a month its been here at HPA…the FT425R seems to have hit the spot!

The last few packages that went out the door last week shipped with our Gen2 Haldex controller with cable and switch. I was fortunate enough to have our technicians run one of the in-house builds on the Superflow with the Haldex controller configured in OE, SPORT and RACE modes.

In the graphs posted below you can see just how much of the total wheel HP is being delivered to the rear wheels across these three modes.

We will release an additional 5 sets of FT425R packages for the month of September.

Thanks for posting that - it confirms what I'm feeling. It was so worth having you guys install that last year. :thumbup:
