Hunting and lack of power
Hi,
my 2.0 has been giving me problems for quite a while now.. the idle hunts, especially when it's cold, and stalls occasionally untill it's warmed up. And I'm sure it's missing some power.. especially low end. We've checked for air leaks and cracked boots and that's all fine. I did open up the air flow regulator thingie and it was dirty as hell so I cleaned it and adjusted that round plate up a little because it was a little low. The fuel mixture seems OK and everything is cycling like it should. New seals on the injectors. New temp sensor. O2 sensor is apparently OK. Throttle switches are working fine.
What else can I check?? This is driving me nuts cuz I don't want to spend any money on upgrades untill I can at least get the damn thing running right.

I had a similar prob that haunted me practically all last summer. Turned out the idle hunting was due to a hole in a vac line in the intake boot and the stalling was the throt contrl switches. Hunting seems to be always related to some sort of vacuum line leak.. there always exceptions i guess.... if your local vdub dealer is at least somewhat respectable, maybe even consider having them diagnose it... (Ill prolly get slammed for sayin that here

Yea... I hear ya... Somewhere bewteen the 6 times I had to take my car in there this summer, I reazlized that if i had an rpg in my possesion, there would have been a lot of rubble and fire. Unfortunately there would have been of alot good cars destroyed too
