It is.
Some of these replies are great.

yeah, I’d have to check myself into the loony bin if I bought my Benz (either one) back. The E550 stranded me in Indiana when the front diff exploded, and the S55 left me in Colorado.
The car I’m buying did have the alternator quit on me, but I was able to change it in the parking lot of an O’Reiley’s In Missouri.

I was stranded in Indiana once and there truly are some good folks out there.

Wait, are you sure you didn't miscount the number of cylinders?

Yes sir. My friends let me borrow their minivan for two weeks to get us home. So naturally, I filled it full of cases of Yeungling because we had the room! I’m originally from there.

While it was a really cool car, I don’t think I’d do another unless it was a manual. That transmission sucks.

you're buying your old audi with the v8 swap?
I wish. I tried to chase it down a few years ago. Fascinating story, but bear with me as I attempt to recollect what happened.
It went to Cincinnati and then made it up to Maine or somewhere like that. They tore it down to swap to a lower mileage engine, and then the guys shop it was at had some illegal stuff go down, and it ended up getting parted and scrapped. Sad face.

Sorry I'm late to the thread, but upon reading the first post I immediately began chanting out loud, "Please be the Camaro, please be the Camaro, please be the Camaro...."

I've been slowly working on little things. I thought about programming the ECU and using the original truck ECU's fan controls, and then repinning the harness to use those. But then, when stand-alone fan switches exist, I will probably do that instead.

Also, the metal around the door latch pin is completely rotted away, so it will take a short hiatus to the body shop to rebuild the door frame. I already have new hinges, so this will be a nice fix when it's done.

It has a pretty crappy paint job, and its not worn well over the years, but I really don't care. I bought this car for about half of what it's parts are worth, so I'm good to drive it as is for a while. As long as the 6.0 keeps kicking, the cruise working and the A/C blows cold, I'm okay driving my ratty muscle car. Eventually, I'd like to put a Z28 front clip on it, as I'm not a huge fan of the hood, but for now, it will do.

To recap, I bought this car with a 350/350 combo, and 6.0/4L65E swapped it, put in a vintage air system, dakota digital gauge cluster and dakota digital cruise control that interfaces with the computer and the gauge cluster.

I also picked up some Foose wheels and tires at an awesome price from one of my drivers, so I put them on for now. They drive well, and look decent, but they'll likely not will stay on the car as I upgrade the suspension.
