So im cruising along and came up to a red light...
I went to put it in 1st gear, nothin... 2nd gear nothin..
3,4,5,6 and R work fine..
I was told it was a shift fork and got a quote for 13 hundo, 3 day TA time.
Question to you guys, what would a job like this usually run?
Im mechanically inclined but dont have a garage, tools, money or the time to do it..
What the cheapest way possible to fix my banged up car?

Re: I can haz shift fork? (Soze.K)

Just replaced mine like um 3 weeks ago.
total bill was 1200 for the job. i pad like 172 b\c i had warrenty and 100 of it was deductible and rest was tax.
but 1000-1500 range is the going rate.
you need to pull the tranny and crack the case open to fix it. PITA if you don't know trannys.

If it were me, I would make damn sure to do a clutch while you are in there, no matter how much life the stock one has. The idea about finding a used one is a good one also. They are easy to take out and get back in.
