would like to know is if it is possible to add a turbo to my 2.0 golf. As you know the 2.0 golf without a turbo isn't nearly as fast as a 1.8 with. What is stopping me from buying the VR6 is that it cost almost $7000 more than the car I currently have. I like the fact that the VR6 is a six cylinder, six speed, 200 hp car and has leather interior and power everything and has 48,000 miles less than my car. What I would like to know is if I can or can't get about that amount of hp from my car with a nice turbo, maybe buy new set of Recarios seats (don't know if I spelled that right) and put a cold intake and K&N filter, recarpet floor, new stearing wheel, and put black door panels in as well as glove box. I think I could do all that with only a couple grand. I know that my car is in sound condition mechanically and I am not sure if I want to have close to a $300 dollar car payment. How do the VR6 and the 1.8T compare structurally to the 2.0 base model? Is the shock system cheaper on the 2.0 than the others? Do you get a lot more bang for your buck spending 7k more on a VR6 or not really?

you can't get 200hp outa a 2.0 without almost as much as it would cost to upgrade. get the VR.

The mileage and goodies alone are basically worth the difference. AND a VR! Sounds good to me.
I'd love a VR but I've grown too fond of my lil' 4-banger already.
