I drove the (possibly) highest mileage Lamborghini Huracan in the country.

This past February I went on a trip to Las Vegas with some friends. I had a few free hours for most of the first day, so I did what any car guy alone in the desert would do... start browsing for super car rentals. I found a place called Royalty exotic cars ( www.royaltyexoticcars.com ), they had a little bit of everything as far as cars go. Mclaren's, Ferrari's, Bugatti Veyron mansory editioni, GTR's, Porsche GT3RS, Super Bikes, modified off road jeeps, you name it they had it.

I spent a few hours reading reviews and finally felt comfortable doing the online reservation for a 2015 Huracan that was equipped with a "race exhaust" and a body kit.

After signing some additional insurance paperwork (I upgraded to cover basic dings etc.), I was walked out to the car, given a run down of how everything works and off I went. I honestly was blown away at how easy the entire process was. No attempt at a bait and switch, no up sales, nothing. So I got in the car and immediately noticed the mileage 102,479 miles.

At first I thought I was reading the info screen incorrectly, but nope 102K miles. I had some concerns, but decided "**** it" if it breaks down they can come get it with a tow truck and I'd politely ask for my card to be refunded. I grabbed my camera bag from my hotel and headed out to Red Rock Canyon, driving through the desert with the car in corsa mode and the V10 roaring behind me was amazing. The pops and crackles from the downshifts were addictive. I had the car for a few hours, so I stopped at a very well known west coast American cuisine spot.

In the time I had the car I burned through close to two tanks of gas, the "smiles per gallon" saying stands true.

We are going back again in a couple of months and I really want to take out their Ferrari 488 or GT3RS.

Man that car has probably paid for its self tenfold with that many miles.

I can only imagine what you spent on the miles for nearly two tanks of driving.
Looks tremendously fun, may I ask what it costs to do such a thing?
I'll add more photos and a few videos once I get home tonight.

No way have they not paid for this thing 10 times over at this point.

I believe I paid a little over $700, including the upgraded insurance ($99).

Looking at the website that exact Hucacan is $1199 to rent for 24 hours. Taxes included & unlimited mileage. Discount of 5% for active/retired military.

Edit: Whoops OP got an even better deal :p

Off season, and I only did the 4 hour rental since I had to meet my group that night. I wish I did the 24 hour rental though... next time.
a few videos I was able to pull from my phone.

Car is a 2015 so let's say it is 3.75 years on the road. Rented five days a week at $1000 per rental, 260k per year, 975k total. Minus all your maintenance and what not, that is a serious tidy profit. I would imagine insurance is crazy money though. That averages out to about 104 miles per rental.

It really isn't a bad deal. The same car from enterprise with a 75 MILE LIMIT was almost double W/ a hefty deposit.

Supposedly it's never broken down and has only needed "pads and fluids" type services.
I did the Exotics Racing in an GT3, lamborghini, R8V10, and drift car ZR1 a few years ago, and paid about the same as you did for your rental. fastest i got to on the course was ~105mph (booo) but the acceleration, cornering, sounds, and control of the power is the real thrills part.

i see these and other exotics reving their engines up and down LV blvd all the time when out there. always intrigues me. i love hearing the echos of their engines rev off the casinos... just makes sense in the adult play land of excess in the middle of the desert. I've always wondered about renting one for a day, but we're always staying in one of the mgm strip properties, and have absolutely zero need for a car :(. thanks for the quick write-up, i'll have to look into maybe venturing out to see hoover dam, and getting there via a huracan on one of my trips out there. thanks for piquing my interest in this once again haha

it's one of the best ways to see Vegas. We usually only hang around the strip for the typical tourist sight seeing, but the rest of the time we go out into the desert. Next time we are going to do Valley of fire, the Hoover dam, and probably Mt. Charleston.
I won't lie, I did cruise the strip a few times and downshift it in front of crowds of people to see their reactions to the crackles and pops.

at the exotic racing i was asking them about maintenance and tires, they kinda laughed and showed us the 'garage' (you have to ask). I remember one of them stating that they burn thru 4 sets a day on the popular cars. omg the mountains/rows of tires!

I've heard that the Huracan is one of the most reliable exotics you can buy.
Looks like a fun outing!

How many miles are you permitted with the regular rental? And I assume they have restrictions on how far you can drive away from Vegas as well?

Mileage is unlimited, but you have to stay within the county. If you want to go farther you have to pay a fee, which i'm sure is just for insurance.

That's a pretty good deal. You did the right thing by going to Red Rock. Valley of Fire would be another option, but will take more time from/to.

True, but the views at VoF are much better.
