I finally know what I am going to do with my car!

No more dreaming of a huge Schrick cam for me, I just bought a small comp cam. It is a 260 duration with .410 lift. Yes it is small, but it will be good for my TURBO! I have decided to go with a turbo, I wanted to make a nice all motor bunny, but not at my altitude. Turbo cars run so much better that NA cars at this altitude. So It will be a 2.0, 10:1 compression turbo bunny. I was thinking of running around 6 PSI to be safe, but that should be worth 50-60 HP with my compression. What do you guys/girls think about how much boost I can run and still have a reliable rabbit? thanks

I had a brief though about running a low-boost turbo on my 2.0L 16V. I'm building it, this winter and plan to swap it, in the spring. Still undecided as I'm leaning more towards the carbs.
Can you run boost without FI?

good question but I don't think so, any body else ?

Sure you can, either draw through (carb-->turbo-->TB) or push through (turbo-->carb-->TB)... Its harder to run an IC with the draw through, but you need to seal your carb if you do a push through setup. Check out the old aircooled guys, they've got a crapload of info on turbo carbed stuff. Good luck...

if you go carb. go turbo, ic, carb, etc...

Just to clarify...I am going to a dual sidedraft setup. I was thinking more along the lines of (carb~~>boost source [turbo or G60]~~>IC~~>Intake manifold). Remember also, I'm thinking low boost (around 6 psi) just to bump the low end.

And you are doing this with a motor that runs 10:1 naturally aspirated? Are you going to run Av gas in it? Or are you going to drive it daily? That just seems like a lot of compression for a motor that you are going to run a turbo on.
