suspension.

specify, i can't excede 500$ so suspension won't be the best~

Vtec16, where in FL are you going? Are you driving your Dub?
Re: I have a jetta tdi, have 500$ canadian, what to do, you decide! (vtec16)

well, for $500, you could do weitec tx or gt kit. 30-50mm. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

How about the Votex side skirts since you already have the bumper.

For $500. Canadian you can get one of those cool sunglass holders.

Suspension by far. Weitec GT 30 mm will cost you about $650 CDN + tax, so that would be a stretch (if you can wait a couple weeks for that extra $, you won't regret it). The only thing cheaper that I can recommend is Tokico shocks from shox.com for $289 US. With S&H, it works out to $540 CDN + tax.
Other than that, there is nothing worthwhile in the suspension area under $500 CDN, unless you can find somebody selling their suspension parts in the classifieds forum.

the weitec kit, what does it come with? only springs? i can get h&r springs for 155 U.S, then the shocks maybe? hmmm.
Re: I have a jetta tdi, have 500$ canadian, what to do, you decide! (vtec16)

Weitec GT is a cup kit, which means it includes both springs and shocks. There was a RapidParts.com group buy in the Suspension forum. Maybe you can still get the $375 US + $45 S&H price? Great deal.
Tokico shocks $289 + H&R springs $155 + S&H = ~$500+ US

Supposed to be pretty good (although the ProSystem is probably a little bit more comfortable). If I didn't get the Eibach ProSystem, I would have gotten the Weitec GT. I just didn't want that much of a drop.

Trade in your TDI and use the $500 down on a 1.8T

But, barring that, I'd go with the tuning box and mufflerectomy

The Mufflersectomy is going to cost you what, maybe $25? You can do that either way. If you've already got plans for a chip lined up, I'd say forget about the tuning box and do something else, like the supension possibly.
Re: I have a jetta tdi, have 500$ canadian, what to do, you decide! (vtec16)

hm.. if you get the suspension vtec tell me where you get it heh.. i get my bonus next week so i'm looking for rims/tires/probably weitec gt kit... since we're from canada we need a place that ships as a gift, or a canadian store..

Whatever you decide, do the mufflerectomy. The added spunk and cool growl/turbo-whistle sound will make you very glad you did it. (I just did it 2 days ago and can't get the
off my face, and my hair is always a mess as I drive with my head out the window so I can hear it.)
It cost me 20 bucks. 8 for the 3 foot straight-pipe, 12 for the chrome tip. I'm sure you can do better if you shop around, but I was in a hurry.
Besides, 20 bucks ain't bad.
Not sure what I'd do with 480 bucks that you have left over, probably save it for wheels or suspension, possibly get the Upsolute tuning box with the "chip you're going to do anyway."

Just my .03

You guys should order together, then you can split whatever S&H / brokerage fees you get hit with. Seeing as you probably live half an hour away from each other. Just take the 13 and 440 and you'll be at the guy's house in no time. Those highways are FAST Sat/Sun morning.
