Today I went to Midas
to get my new tt exhaust with borla in SS installed wooooo. What happen is that I have a high flow universal cat. 55mm in and 55mm out, but it wasn't enough long to join the center pipe so the dump ass install a pipe that he curved (not mendrel bend) because he said that my cat was not centered. So can someone tell me if it's normal for a vw 16v to have the downpipe end a very little bit a the right if you look from the back. Because I am going elsewhere to get this fix, because I lost a lot of flow

are there any tuning shops around your area? They might charge a little more but a place like that does performance mods and understands what exhausts need to do.....unlike midas that only thinks they make the car quiet

lads let not rub salt on wound... Anyway the fact is you need to relook, hoeevr I felt 55mm in and 55 mm out does not really equate. Should consult a pro as the exhaust is one of the more inportant aspect of mods...GOOD LUCK...

To answer your question, the inlet and outlet of the stock cat are not in line.

relax dude, the bend is fine.
people get all hyped on mandrel benders.
First off, they cost like 40 GRAND compared to 5 grand for a hydrolic die bender. No muffler shop is going to have a mandrel bender.
what the heck did you expect the guy to do?
a small bend under 45 degreese wont even be different with a die bender or a mandrel bender.
