There are alot less than 100 banners. But 60k users to sort through. Hmm sees to be a bit difference. And the bandwith and file types aren' the issue here.

It's one of those "screwed if you do, screwed if you don't" sort of situations.

So if we figured out a way to eliminate all the usernames that havent been used for the past 365 days or to bring it down to a more accurate figure, the avatars could be a possibilty?!
btw, is Vortex the largest forum?

I get that, Chris...and believe me, I'm grateful.
The fact that vortex has one helluva sales staff keeps
our memberships free. And I couldn't care less about
the lack of avatars. My crack was regarding all of the
pissing and moaning about the "slowness" of the 'tex
that started to occur right around the same time that
.swf animations were offered to advertisers.
Coincidence? Doubtful. I mean...simple .gifs wouldn't
have been enough?

Oh, I getchya! Yeah, I agree. We really don't need swf ads. Gifs are fine.

But I assume they cost more, so they are more profitable. I don't think Jamie et al will dump them so easily.
