ok so yesterday me and my brother went to pick up my new(to me) diesel rabbit, it wouldnt start. so off to the local parts store to pick up some glow plugs and what not. that still didnt work. theen his jetta was showing an oil light...

long story short we were stranded with two cars that wont start. in his frustration he gave me his car! and said that if i want to get it home and fix it, finish off the payments its all mine

basically im scraping the diesel plan(im even getting my $$ back) and probably replacing the engine in the jetta. i need some help...this is my first project like this. where do i find a good engine on a budget? should i upgrade? 2.0L? what will fit? what is involved? i think the original engine can get me around for awhile, so i can wait until summer and save some $$. anyway let me know what to do? thanks, derek
