I need help from some of you tiny guru's....

Alright, I need a windshield tint banner on my gti vr6. I dont want a solid dork banner, but i was wondering if i could get a faded, kinda like the stock tint, but just fade from like clear to black? Could this be done? Or should I just get like a strip of limo tint windhshield banner? By the way this is not for look, but for purpose, as i dont have the blue strip on my window, i dont know why, but i dont. And on the track when i take turns, i am going to hit the sun at angles which will probably blind me. So Ineed something to block the sun, but not look ricey or stand out too much. basically looking for a windsheifl banner that fades out, so it looks good. Thanks. (black limo (or 0%) tint, no colors)

A tint shop can do it for you for $20 or less
I had it on my old car, it does work well. It's the touring look, so although it's not the clean euro look, don't let people tell you it's ricey, it's really not

Hmmmm....might work if you get a good Tint place....
My thought.....getting the banner tint(dark as I can), but instead of having it all black....I'm gonna have "Volkswagen" faded down a lighter tint.....So banner....25%...words 35%
I have a place that could most likely do it.....
Whatcha think?

I was wondering about this too, in attempt to attain a stockish look while being functional yet not cheesy. I will be doing this in the spring when I get the whole car lightly tinted.
DUHSHET...I think it would look just okay. Maybe if there was barely a noticeable difference in the tint tones it would look good. Like so you could only see it if you looked hard enough, you know what I mean?

Sorry dude, i dont know of any manufacturer of this kind of product. I have had several enquireies and the only thing i can suggest is multiple strips, that looks even more rice. If this is exclusively for track then i can suggest a couple of things. Do what they do in BTCC and use a reflective (Silver R20 by llumar) type material for the top 1/3 of the glass. It is easy to look out of, takes out all glare and provides a substantial light reduction. If you want more info email me....
Hope this helps
edit: I just saw you saw 0%??? that is painting the glass with black paint.... the tint levels are as following in levels of light transmittance from darkest to lightest. 5%, 15%, 20%, 35%, 50%

WEll I already have racing window strips. They are just a glossy black finish sticker that you cut to shape on the top of the window. But i dont want it solid black, or do i?

What color is the car? and how often is it on the track vs the road? I think if you are comfortable with it now, stay with it, too much hassle to change if you are okay with the look

No I mean I alreayd have the materials, not on the car though...They are for my dads race car. He just has the black strip with the dealership he races out of on it. But I'll see what i cna find. I'llprobably end up with a limo tint strip.
