I've been wanting to do something different with my car appearence wise and I thought this idea would be interesting. Its an R line bumper that I will cut two exhaust holes for the tips. I always liked this look on audi TT's. This was a 5 minute hack job in photoshop, but you get the idea. So what I need is advice and insight into how to make this possible. Particularly cutting out those exhaust holes.

Re: I photoshopped an idea I had... (Vdubgrub)

by the way, this bumper comes with option of no holes or one hole. Naturally I would choose the one hole option as I thought I would only need to drill one more hole but it wont work because the hole that there has a lip around it. Would be difficult to make the holes appear identical.
Im also thinking of taking the rear spoiler off if I do this bumper because I feel it would look cleaner and sleeker without the wing.

yes more or less. The thing I like about the r line bumper is it retains the side lines of the lower bumper.
Anybody want to buy a mint TR rear bumper?

I can't find a better pic of it right now but I think Jeff's car has what you are looking for.

Vdubgrub I was able to find the rear bumper you are looking for. I too was looking for a different but subtle change to the rear bumper. This what I found and maybe you can find other ideas as well. This company has many to choose from. Since I'm still new to computers and dont know how to submit pictures I'll have to walk you through the steps. First go the the web page http://www.tmtuning.com then choose "vw" to the left side of screen choose "exterior" and then hit "golf 4" when you see the screen full of front bumpers look to the right side and you see some arrows pointing up and another pointing down. click the down arrow until you get to the page "3 of 5" on the top row of pictures counting from the left to the right you'll see the "sixth" picture is what you seek. Click it and see it in a larger view. I hope this helps but like I said they have alot of great stuff and different.

Rick thanks!
I actually am aware of TMtuning and thats where I was planning on getting the r line bumper.
So how do you think would be the best way to get holes cut out?

There was A DBP R at H2O in 2005 that had that bumper
but no exhaust cutouts. I'll try to find some pics if i can

Oh, yeah. It was at waterfest too. Momentum Tuning's turbo'd R.
Edit: The Momentum car has a European R-line bumper
You can get it with one exhaust cutout but not two.

Well to get the holes drilled out will either take some time and a dremel. Or some cash and pay someone else to do it so you dont mess it up. Personally I think if your going for that euro look dont modify the bumper modify the exhaust tips to be stealth. KW suspension TDI rear bumper has no exhaust tips showing and I thought it looked great with the body.

I agree. I talked to the guy who owned the Momentum turbo car and he said he was going to put custom side exhausts in the side skirts. I don't know if he has yet, though.
