my bumper side marker lights that is. I've been thinking about it for a while now, but I have to give props where it's due, if I hadn't seen Nicole's (VdubGirl) car that Derek (countblah.............) worked on, I may not have done it.
here it is, just needs prime and paint, hopefully I'll make it down to my buddies shop tomorrow.

hope you like, I do. I'll have some full car pics later after paint.

Re: i shaved - check it out. (dubtrixT)

Just a suggestion.. to insure flatter work that's closest to the natural contours of the bump sand in a criss cross patter http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif Looks great.. looks like you plastic weld better than me

what process do you use to weld the plastic? impulse, ultrasound, or a gas

Re: i shaved - check it out. (baomo)

thanks for the comments derek (countblah) - will criss cross from here on...
as per plastic welding, I use a plastic welder, also known as a heat molding iron, just like the one countblah posted above.
thanks -

sometimes i forget.
i was thinking about a handheld ultrasonic like 30kHz, not that its structural but figured it would be smoother than a contact weld.

bondo

"Bondo" is no good for anything.... but modern polyesther fillers will stick to just about anything.. I use Evercoat Rage Gold

no bondo here either Darrell - I used evercoat rage as well, though mine had a blue cream hardner.
as long as the piece is prepped right, as in no paint left on it, the filler will stick. The other thing to remember is that you only need a skim coat of filler anyway, the weld (which is re-inforced from behind) is where you get the strength from. Not too much filler is needed.
thanks for the words all.
