a little over 150ft-lbs at 1500rpm is pretty good. the computer stopped graphing at 4750 (the hp peak), after that the hp and tq crossed at 5252 and went down slowly till redline (but it didnt plot the points after peak hp). only mod being a 3.0" mandrel bent exhaust from the manifold back with a straight through muffler. This was done on a mustang dyno (which reads lower than a dynojet by quite a bit). It would really be cool to get it tested on an engine dyno to see the flywheel hp.
the weight of the car is more than i expected it to be. it has weight redux too. but it also has a autopower cage and the vr6 too.
anyway, what do you think?
BTW-> car can be your for $5000, check out my link for pics and specs if you are interested.

Re: I took the A2 VR6 to the dyno today....... MONSTER TORQUE! (vagvr6)

As far as I heard Mustang Dyno read too high. The power loss is about 30% so your VR6 is putting out about 130 to 140 to the wheel which makes more sense. I have seen 10 Vr6 dyno with all the bolt on mods and they all produced around 160 hp to the wheel

Re: I took the A2 VR6 to the dyno today....... MONSTER TORQUE! (kickster)

naw, the mustang dyno reads lower than the dynojet because it adds resistance to simulate a real world condition. if i was on a dynojet, or would be closer to 160 or so hp and more tq too probably. but i cant really say unless i put it on a dynojet also...

those 12.1 second timeslips you are talking about are for a 1000' track (look closely). in the 1/4 mile, that would be in teh 14 second range somewhere, which seems about right for an A2 VR.
yeah, the only mod is exhaust.

Hey, i realized your driver belt are mounted at too much of an angle. You should mount them to the higher mounting bar. the angle looks way too much to have your belts mounted. I am not sure how dangerous it is, but i would suggest you look into it. How much does that roll cage weigh anyways, thanks.
Also whats the car weight in at?

i put the weights on the dyno chart
2520lbs with me in it (175 lbs). i am not sure how much the cage weighs, but it is pretty heavy

our GLX dyno'd on a dynojet at 172 to the wheels with C/I/E and Schrick 264/260 cams.
I didnt think it was all that great at the time, but apparently it's not too bad?

Why would you go with a 3" exhaust on a STOCK VR6? Wouldn't that cause you to lose power? Some backpressure is good on a N/A car.

I've also heard the same. I believe a loooong time ago there was a big ass discussion around here about this...and yes, the consensus was that the mustang dyno reads too high. Sorry.

Re: I took the A2 VR6 to the dyno today....... MONSTER TORQUE! (Dextrose)

yeah, just alittle high. you can't have over stock (way over stock) torque figures with a stock motor. everyone knows exhausts don't do much at all on these motors until way down the build up road. so to have a torque figure that high, regardless if it's registering crank or wheel output is impossible. i'm sure it's a beachin' car though

Re: I took the A2 VR6 to the dyno today....... MONSTER TORQUE! (M this 1!)

What what Ive been able to gather, for some reason some Mustang dynos seem to show a peak torque value that is way out of line, while showing a peak power value that is a tad low.
AMS's Mustang dyno also claimed a stock VR6 made 190+ ft lb to the wheels. On a Dynojet, it would probably be in the 150-155 w ft lb range with peak power also around 150-155 whp. That makes alot more sense on a car rated at 172 crank hp and 173 crank ft lb.

Re: I took the A2 VR6 to the dyno today....... MONSTER TORQUE! (kevinMXS)

Something is not not right here. The torque peak on VR6 should be at a higher rpm than that, ~4500 rpms for a virtually stock car. Slightly higher as the mods go on. I'm thinking this dyno wasn't done in fourth like it should have been...
