I want to max out my auto 1.8T! help!

After finding out that the HPA Stage III GT6 kit was $60K USD, not $40K USD I have pretty much decided against it and now want to max out my 1.8T up to the roughly 250HP crank limit before things start breaking.
I currently have a 2001 AWW and was waiting for APR to finish the chip for my car, which still hasn't come along. I don't mind going with GIAC if need be, since I think they already have my chip finished, but I liked the ECMS features of APR.
I'm not to big on going with a K04, seems too small of a gain for AWW engines. And i'm assuming a T3/T4 would destroy the auto transmission. Is there anything in between? Maybe a T3/T4 with toned down software?
So, if money was no object within reason, what would you suggest for the best set-up keeping the stock transmission. Do LSD's help with automatic-equipped vehicles.

A 4spd auto --> 5 or 6 spd conversion is not out of the question, but that's not what I'm after in this thread.

VWRoOM ran a 13.9 w/his auto 1.8t awd, he has a GIAC chip, 3" DP, TT exhaust and some other stuff, you can expect faster since you have the AWW motor

Have seen that already, but thanks... Vwroom is still well under the 250hp barrier... I want to get as close to it as is reasonably possible.
DBJ must be pushing close to 250 at the crank...

yup, his dyno came in at 213 at the wheels
assuming 15% drivetrain loss
213/.85 = 250.6 at the crank

he has the AWW/evo intake, forced motion 3" exhaust
dam great for all bolt on mods
im not sure what the specs of the auto tranny are as far as max hp/torque tolerance, but if you go to any stage 3 kits, definitely get a tranny cooler to keep it from destroying itself. this is an area where noone has really gone before. i know pes has a tip chip for passats for the 2.8 V6 passat supercharger kit and thats pushing 295 hp (not sure what the torque is). so theres alot of possibility for upgrades, just dont know where the limit is for the 4 sp tranny............

The generally accepted guesstimate is 250HP @ the crank.

What about for the newer Tiptronic Automatics? Can they be pushed further?

No idea... I doubt they could go much further than 250HP crank without tranny modifications.. but that's just a guess.

Well, naturally...I mean, if it were 40K I'd be jumping all over it too, but 60K? I mean, what ARE they thinking?

You were actually going to spend forty thousand dollars to mod your 1.8T?

587HP AWD sleeper for less than the cost of an Acura NSX? I don't see the problem here.

A T3 with an internal wastegate running 9PSI should do what you want. About 225 at the wheels. Pretty simple mods and here's a list of stuff you'll need:
T3-60 trim turbo. Capable of 250whp, $635. Add $195 for internal wastegate
ATP Exhaust manifold. $395
Downpipe. $399
Intake plumbing. $200
4 bar FPR. $65 (may need 5 bar just to be safe)
Then a Chip

1st Step, take it back to the dealership and ask for a manual 5 speed.
