Volkswagen will once again show off its latest technology at the Consumer Electronic Show in early January. The German automaker will take the opportunity to show the all electric ID, as well as Volkswagen User-ID. Both will be making their US debuts.

The Volkswagen ID is the first concept confirmed for the brand's all electric platform, MEB. With flat batteries stored under the car and a motor mounted between the rear wheels, the revolutionary MEB platform is tasked with helping VW achieve its goal of selling 2 to 3 million electric cars by 2025.

Along with the ID concept, VW will be premiering User-ID a new infotainment system that the brand is calling a major advancement in infotainment.

"With the Volkswagen User-ID we're taking things a major step further", says Dr Volkmar Tanneberger, VW’s head of Electrical and Electronic Development. "The seamless integration of Partner Services combined with our own online services will create an entirely new user experience."

Long the site of major electronic and infotainment debuts, CES has played host to Volkswagen’s Golf R Touch , and Budd-e in the past.

The show kicks off on January 5 in Las Vegas.
