Ignition lock removal??

Anyone know how to rmove the lock assembly from the column. I have removed the stalks and the two screws that clamp the unit to the column. Seems somethig internal is holding it as it is loose but won't come off column. Does the shaft have to come out? Thanks for any help.

Thanks. Great info, but how far in from the end do you drill the hole and what size? Don't want to screw it up. Better to ask a dumb question then make a dumb mistake.
