I bought a 2002 Jetta 1.8T in September and have yet to do some mods to it. My major fear is voiding the 4 year warranty. Any suggestions for simple mods that I could be doing right now? I'm dying to have some fun!

Just chip it the dealer really can't catch you unless you drop a tranny or something, once you get chipped all thoughts of warrentees really become secondary to the fun your having.

Whats Up dude welcome to the Vortex. There aren't many Engine tweaks or MODs that are 100% not going to void your warranty. Its all up to your dealership. My particular Dealership has a don't ask don't tell policy.
Engine Rev Codes - Hmmm. I believe he's talking about the Error message that gets posted when you Exceed Max Engine Speed. Some Chip Tuners Remove the Rev Limiter from the Car allowing you to rev past the Factory set limit. This is "supposed" to automatically void your warranty.

A Vag-Com is a cool little unit that will Allow you to plug a computer into the Service port on the Car. This will let you see whats going on in your car. It's a GREAT tool I love mine. But if you do chip and purchase an Extra ECU you only need a Vag-Com ONCE to adapt the new ECU. So to purchse it just for that isn't the best idea.
I'd really recomend learning to use the Search feature I know it's MY friend
