Well I am really wanting to get chrome mirror covers for my jetta...it just looks sooo good on plat. grey
BUT I herd that to fit an 02+ jettas, some modifying of the mirror was needed and I was wanting to hear from you guys who have them, or did have them and what exactly needed to be "modified" in order for them to fit. Anyone that did a little custom work to theirs can post up too. Pic for boosted views...

Re: In-pro chrome mirror covers... (TwinkleToez)

Depends on what everyone's definition of "fitment" is. They'll never go on clean and will look great from a distance, but look like ass up close. There will be a gap on the bottom between the housing and the cover, and as you can clearly see even in the promotional pic you attached, the fitment around the joint where the mirror turns in looks like crap. Also the quality of in-pro stuff is garbage and well documented.
I tried getting them on my car and after many hours of smoothing out and dremeling sections of the interior plastic mirror housing, it still looked half-ass. My feeling is if you're gonna release a product, it should be made right from the start and not require additional modifications while being sold as "plug n play".
There are some who are happy with theirs, but I have yet to see an "up close" picture from those who have them which shows a smooth and tight fit. I'd pass based on my experience with them. It might cost you more, but you'd be better off finding a chrome shop and seeing if they can chrome your existing mirror covers. I read on another post someone called a shop and was told they could be chromed. He never got back to me on a price though.

I agree with you. It's a shame they don't make them properly, because they look really nice (from far away). Seems like all of inpro's products are overprices, halfassed garbage. http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif

Re: In-pro chrome mirror covers... (TwinkleToez)

someone makes a complete chrome mirror replacement (cant remember who at the moment), but i will probably go with that...i bought some real metal chrome sticker sheets and may try to see if that works on the mirrors...if not, ill buy the aftermarket mirrors although they are costly...around $250 or so

Excellent reply http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif Who says adding a modification to a car has anything to do with being "noticed"
I'm sure the guy who started this thread will use your infinite wisdom to boost his lack of self esteem

Hey real cool man! Glad to know you hate chrome... http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif ...not. Im not desperate for people to notice me at all, and if I was...then I would have vinyl stickers all over my car, have a huge fart can and maybe nothing less than a 2ft. tall spoiler on my trunk
I personally like the mirrors, just flows well with the CHROME LOOK my headlight surroundings have..So do you still hate chrome or really really shiny things on your GTI since its on YOUR car aswell? I mean its on the door handles inside, your headlight surroundings have it, your VW logos has it, its on your steering wheel, that intake you were looking at getting was polished...so do you still hate it?

ANYWAYS...thanks everyone that chimed in...i appreciate it

Re: (TwinkleToez)

yeah . i decided to go my own way on the euro look. i nstead of going with the masses of mods out there like smoked everything and kamei grill i decided to do a chrome look euro lik eyou've never seen. i went chrome grill covers, chrome mirror covers ,chrome door handles and clear taillights. i think it makes your car look classier instead of half assed euro. go for it and do what you want. i will never put down a fellow modder for deciding to make a choice for his car that i don't agree with. i guess that comes with age and maturity so i say go for it and try them. i have yet to finish the mirrors so cannot comment on them yet, hope to do it towmorrow or saturday.i also did the chrome door pins http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
