injector O-rings, how far down do they have to to sit in the insert.

changed injector o-rings yesterday, and injector #1 sits alot lower than the other 3. the other 3 sit with the fat o-ring just inside the insert. while the the 1st is about 1/8 of an inch down...
is this ok? i tried sinking down the other 3 with all types of force but they dont wanna budge.
thanks

Did you clean out the injector hole and gasket seats really well? Bump, I'm doing mine in an hour lol.

The injector seal sits in a recess just inside, you need to take it out and see if it's in right.

Here is a pic of an empty CIS insert:

And this is a pic of a CIS injector properly popped into the insert:

I tried using gasoline as per the Bentley, but I thought it sucked, and found WD-40 to be worlds better for popping injectors in and out with

You should be able to feel it pop in...try WD-40.

broke, vdubs, thank you both.
by the way, did you "soak" the inserts in wd-40 or just "spray" them, because I just sprayed them and they wont go any further down.

thanks

I just gave 'em a shot before they went in, and maybe a shot on my finger and I wiped inside the insert, and they pretty much just popped right in, no problem.
The problem was trying to use the saok-in-gasoline method...I broke a stupid fuel line trying to force them in
Thankfully, I snagged one from a CIS-E donor lump, and made do, even though it is bent kind of different right at the dizzy

But yeah, just a shot got them in, and when I took the old loose ones out, I blasted around the injectors (I knew the head would be cleaned later, and the block was junk), wiggled them around to work the WD-40 in and under the old cracked seals, then popped them out. Some of the o-rings still broke into pieces though, even with lube.

Check that there's nothing stuck in the hole, yea I just spay with WD and push them in.
