Hi all. My daughter has a 2020 SEL that came with the frameless auto-dimming rear view mirror with Homelink. I have searched for programming instructions but they all vary slightly and don't seem to apply to this particular mirror. Does anyone know where I can find the Homelink programming instructions?

I forgot which instructions i used, if i remember correctly you hold buttons 1&3 untill it starts flashing, then hold the button you want to program and click the original remote. I wasn't successful initially because I was pointing the original remote to the mirror, you actually have to point it towards the dashboard. Hope this helps.

The model of the car & mirror do not matter so much. What's more important is the model of the opener, as many use rolling codes.

This video should probably do the trick in most cases and is what I watched beforehand.

You can also get printable instructions here: HomeLink
That should take you to a page with a box to search for you vehicle. Just type in 2020 jetta and it'll give you a list of 1 vehicle to pick from. Then you'll need to give it the make and model of your garage door opener.

Yes, I saw that. The problem is that we are trying to open a parking garage gate so we don't know the make/model.

You'd think so, but it's actually on a card. Mine was in the bag that has the VW Welcome card and pamphlets for the tires and SiriusXM. It actually managed to find its way inside of the SiriusXM pamphlet. As a result, I didn't find it until I finally decided to take a glance at the pamphlet. By then I had already searched online and programmed my mirror.

The owner's manual is probably the worst I've ever seen. There is zero mention of Homelink and my 2021 R-Line came without the card. I had a 2003 GMC Yukon prior to the Jetta. Those instructions worked on my Chamberlain opener.

I went to the OM to figure out what headlight bulb was in the car. It told me to pull the bulb out of the car and look at the number.

I agree most OMs are not great. I do understand why a separate card is (should be) included as not all cars come with the HL mirror option. Same thing for Sirius Satellite radio being a separate glove box document.
