I have a huge love for cars. Especailly ones made in Germany. Does anyone know how one would go about looking for a job internship somewhere in the car industry. Does anyone here have any sources for internships, in this field.

Mmmm, I believe VW just started a MI internship program. It used to be you had to go over the pond.
You might check http://www.wetfeet.com and http://www.review.com for internship listings. You have to hunt for it on Review.com, it's buried somewhere but they ARE there.

Good luck. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

my buddy had an internship with Ford.. supposedly he is responsible for the sunroofs in the F350 trucks... I have a couple other buddies that worked in auto design.. one for ford and one for GM.. but they are both mechanical E majors at MIT... i think that had something to do with it, since Ford seems to just sleep there waiting for people.. the first kid goes to Carnegie Mellon.. but i he said their internship fleet is huge and range from everyschool... I will ask him next time i talk to him how he got his job..

Where do you go to college? Or are you in college? At [email protected], Ford and GM recruit on campus. These two comapnies recruit on campus at most of the big Engineering schools. If you're trying to decide where to go to school to give you the best chance at a job in the car industry, just look at world news's ratings of engineering colleges. MIT, CalTech, Carneigie Mellon, Purdue, [email protected], U of Illinois, U of Michigan, Cornell, let's see how many schools it that...those are the schools in the top ten that I can remember off the top of my head. I know they also recruit @ Texas A&M (I know, no where near you), but don't limit yourself to just the top schools. Good luck.

i know this wasn't what the original poster was looking for - but if any mech-eng / auto-eng folks are looking at this thread with the same question in mind, it might help to check out the Career Resources section of the Society of Automotive Engineers' website:
