Re: Is a 3.0 Liter head the same as a 24v head? (Butters)

no, there is no relation between the 12v and the 24v and you can't just swap parts from them at will. The entire engine is different. You could of course do a 3.0 bore to a 24v engine...

Re: Is a 3.0 Liter head the same as a 24v head? (niels)

Thanks guys... pardon my ignorance. I promise never to post in this Forum again. Ever. I promise. Really. I mean it. Sorry for wasting your valuable time with my absurd questions.

Oh, that's cool--the moderators have taken to simply removing posts now. They could've just locked it considering the absurdity of the question. http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif
Like I said in my post that was removed, the Vortex is going to hell.

HEY MODERATORS LOOK AT NIELS, HE'S BEING NEGATIVE. QUICK, DELETE HIS POST!!!
Oh, I see how it is, if you send over all kinds of hard-to-get euro parts, you can run around willy-nilly and poke fun at people, huh? Well then....

Yeah, the vortex is going to hell... you can't even ask a simple question to clear up your own confusion without everyone making you feel like a dumbass...

Re: Is a 3.0 Liter head the same as a 24v head? (jininkan)

Exactly!!!! I'm sorry but this guy comes in here talking about a 3.0L cylinder head as if increasing displacement is as simple as swapping heads. Anyone with a casual interest in cars should have some basic things down, especially someone with a BMW 2002--what's that about? I admit that my post was pretty mean-spirited, but sometimes certain things need to be said. As far as the Vortex "going to hell" as I so delicately put it, I said that primarily because here we have a fellow with 1400+ posts and he asks something so, well, stupid. That is a sad commentary on our site--somewhat analogous to high school grads that can't read. How does that happen?
edit: I am stoopid two becuz i cant tipe

I think you misunderstood my question. I wasn't asking about increasing displacement, I was asking if the 3.0 liter head is the 24v head.
Lighten up.

Re: Is a 3.0 Liter head the same as a 24v head? (Butters)

Are we having fun yet?

All you need is a 2,8l engine and 0,2l of humour... = 3.0l of bubling ..whatever.
and no the 3.0l capacity has to do with the bottom half of the engine (block). The valves are in the top (head) of the engine. Hence in this context the capacity has zilch to do with how many valves there might or might not be. The 24v head has the same capacity as the 12v.

Astoundingly posively yours,
Niko

Easy--Butters and I had a warm n' fuzzy IM session. We are friends now...........
Let's all help him learn. That way, when his VR6 cooling system pukes all over his driveway, he'll be the man on the scene and not panic
