If this is not cool I am sure I will find out?
It it is would anyone else be interested in doing it?
And if so I will have to read up on the excepted procedures
for doing it as per the ethical instructions that were recently
set as standard forum group buy procedures.
Thanks
David

Re: Is DieselGeek a Vortex Sponsor? If so short shift kit group buy? (Dawa)

I seem to recall while visiting the site that
10 orders are required.
Once we get 10 I/we can get the specific
arrangements down based on recent GB
policy and get them ordered.
I guess I should also have placed the
order on the a3 classifieds list as well?
Maybe we'll tackle that one when the time comes.
So I guess once we get 10 we can start.
Thanks so far,
David

Thanks, i'll give Jim a call when the time is right.
Also, only 5 sskits are required to get the 15%
discount and everyone would have to prepay
thier core deposit.
A $26.25 savings over the retail $175 cost.
Thanks

Re: Is DieselGeek a Vortex Sponsor? If so short shift kit group buy? (BJMRGTIVR6)

Doesn't matter.
DG's requirements are as follows"
Here are the important things you need to know about this discount program:
1) The discount applies to the kit only, not the core deposit or shipping.
2) You may order any combination of kits to come up with 5 or more. For example, you could order 1 Corrado kit, 1 A3 kit and 3 A4 kits. As long as there are at least 5 kits in the order we will be happy.
3) All of the kits must be ordered at a single time. After the order is placed, the order cannot be changed. We do this because we usually pack an order immediately after it is received.
4) The usual core deposits and shipping charges will apply.
5) All of the kits will be shipped to a single address.
6) All cores returned to us must be returned in a single package. We will issue a single refund of the applicable core deposits.
7) If one or more purchasers in your group want to keep their cores, that is O.K. However, we will not refund those core deposits.
8) A single refund payment will be made for the core deposits. That payment will be made to the person who actually placed, and paid for, the order. In addition, the refund will be via the same method we received our original payment from the person who placed the order.
This could get trickey, hence VWV's need to safeguard us all with the GB policy!
If we ordered through one source which is required
all of our single core returns would have to be returned
individually and then the refunds would bve sent to said
single ordering source and then have to be returned
to each GB participant.
Some time envolved, but I wanna short shift, I wanna short shift!
Would turn 2 motor mounts be a good addition to shift action as well?

Re: Is DieselGeek a Vortex Sponsor? If so short shift kit group buy? (Update)

Today I spoke to DG guy Jim,
He said that his intention to allow
GB's was primarily for clubs in a
centrlalized location.
The GB policy will probably be more work that it is worth!
In order to get our core depoist $ back we would all have to
send in all of our cores in the same shipment which will cost
each of you minimum $10 or more to Seattle.
Then I would ship all of our cores to DG's and we would all pay
1/5th of the shipping which would be approx $50-$75? depending
on overall weight.
1/2 between $50-$75 is $62.50 /5 is $12.50 each
for us to ship our cores back to DG's.
So of the %15 "$26.25" that we have saved on the GB rate
we will all have to spend about $23.00 to get it.
Not worth it in my opinion!
Sorry to get everyone stirred up, just wanting
to get a SS kit and contribute to the forum since
I am getting more that I am contributing, etc.
Next time I will get the 411 1st before I
raise everybodies hopes!
Sorry 'bout that!
David
