Is Galactic Blue the Same as Royal Blue???

I called my dealer to see if they had any touch up paint for my Galactic Blue Jetta and they said the only thing they had said Royal Blue? Isn't that the Audi color that's the same as the VW Galactic Blue?
Don't want to get the wrong stuff.........

It would seem your salesmen doesn't know what he sells, unless he is trying to treat you as an uneducated buyer buy using common colors to describe. Royal is not a color for the Jetta.
In the color wheel, I would say Royal Blue is more similar to VW's Galactic. The Lagoon is much lighter.

I would disagree, the galactic blue is navy. Blue lagoon is like a retro blue, more of a royal.

Had this exact problem this weekend... I went into the local VW dealership parts dept. and asked for a can of aerosol Galatic Blue paint. When the parts guy looked for Galatic Blue he was unable to find it, only found Royal Blue. I had kinda expected this from prior postings. He asked me to go out to my car and get the paint code from the trunk. When he put in the code and pulled up the paint it came back as "Galatic Blue"

I'm a little confused.....did the paint code you gave him from your car match the paint code for the Royal Blue that he found?

No, the paint code that I gave him was for the Galatic Blue. Galactic Blue only came up once I gave him the code. Not sure what the paint code for Royal Blue is.

GB is royal blue.. i got the same thing for my car.. if you look on the container its VW AUDI so i am thinking its a universal color for all the dark blues of VW AUDI, i gave them the paint code for GB and thats what thier computer came up with... by the way the code is LG5V
edit: what model VW or AUDI has had a color actually NAMED "Royal Blue"?

Soooooooo.....I'm guessing the final verdict is that it's the same paint? I leaving to go get it in a few minutes, so I want to be sure.

yes.. get it.. you are fine.. you arent repainting a whole door with it... everything i have used it for it has matched perfect... so even if there is any difference you cant see it...

heh.. i recently placed an order for some matchstick red touchup paint and spray paint... and the code in the book was wrong - it was the same code as ocean green(?) .... anyway, we found the misprint and ordered both things of paint -- one showed up on the computer as murano red and one showed up as canyon red.... but with correct paint codes to match matchstick red... we'll see what happens

So what are you guys using the paint for? Could I use it to say paint over some scratches large and wide on the door, or is that better handled by a body shop?
BTW this is related to the origin of my username...
