is it all cars/manufacturers require so many "special tools" which have to be ordered from a dealership when working on your car? just from installing cams and diagnosing the install (some CELs), i needed:
"cam alignment tool #3268"
"spark plug wire tool #T10029"
"hand vacuum pump VAG# 1390"
and a vagcom reader itself.
they should sell a combo pack so i can get a discount on all these tools in the bentley!! do they have an all inclusive dealership repair tool kit?

Sometimes it's cheaper to have the work done by a good mechanic/dealer. Price you pay for owning foreign iron in many cases.

If cars where so simple that they just used standard tools, they would be more like wagons than modern cars. Just buy the tool or make your own.
