my friend has a 98 jetta glx that is broken down. i'm about to go over and try to see what's wrong with it. just thought i'd see if it's possible to flash out some codes...
i tried searching for 10mins for "dtc" and "fault codes" but didn't find anything, any good links?
also the car won't move so it won't make it to autozone for their free service...
thanks http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Re: is it possible to flash out the dtc's? (Rippen Raymen)

Unfortunately you will need a VAG-COM or other OBDII reader, unless there's something I really don't know. The early OBDI cars did have the ability to "flash" out codes, but not the OBDII's, like the '98. Is there any way you can tow it over there? Good luck! http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
